Our story

Built by a small indie team

Meally started as a personal project to organize a messy recipe collection. I kept screenshotting recipes from Instagram, bookmarking food blogs, and forgetting where everything was. The existing recipe apps either felt clunky, full of ads, or designed for restaurant chefs.

So I built Meally — the app I wished existed. Save any recipe in seconds. Strip the ads. Cook without distractions. That's it.

Today, Meally is used by home cooks across Europe and North America. It's still just two of us — me and Natálie — building this slowly and intentionally. No investors, no aggressive growth tactics, no data harvesting. Just a tool that works.

Is Meally free?

Yes — Meally is free to download, and your first 20 recipes and 2 folders are free. Meally Premium removes those limits and adds extras like recipe translation, as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. There are no ads and no data harvesting.

Does Meally work offline?

Yes. Once a recipe is saved, it works completely offline — including Cooking Mode and the Shopping List. Importing new recipes requires a connection because the app needs to fetch the source.

What languages does Meally support?

English, Czech, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, and Polish. More languages are planned based on demand.

How is Meally different from Paprika or Samsung Food (formerly Whisk)?

Meally focuses on three things: the easiest import from social media (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, photos of cookbook pages), a clean, ad-free cooking experience, and optional meal planning. It's free to start, with no ads or data harvesting, and built by an independent two-person team.

What devices does Meally work on?

iPhone and iPad (iOS 16.6 or later), Android phones (Android 7.0 or later), and any web browser at app.meallyapp.com. The same recipe collection syncs across all your devices when you sign in.

Is there a Meally for the web?

Yes — at app.meallyapp.com. Sign in with your Meally account to use your recipe book, meal plan, and shopping list in the browser; everything syncs with your phone. To save recipes from Instagram or TikTok, the Share button in the phone app is the fastest way.
